Paul Mouginot

Paul Mouginot was born in 1990. He is an artist and engineer, the founder of the artistic collective aurèce vettier. In addition to his practice, he is a contemporary art collector and he contributes to the art section of Purple Magazine since 2013, while he has also contributed texts in numerous art publications. He teaches classes at Institut Français de la Mode (French Institute for Fashion) about new media and creative data usage. In the past, he launched a company and developed a new artificial-intelligence-based technology for fashion images classification. For a few years, he has been developing a deep relationship with Greece and especially the island of Tinos.

PROJECT

Inspired by the antique writings of Paleophaetus, Paul Mouginot will construct Diopea, a device to measure the direction, speed, and GPS position of the winds in selected locations on Tinos, and then he will visualise the data. Along with testimonies from local residents on the ways wind affects their everyday life, he aims to put together a publication on the “wind” on Tinos.
